ai_summary: "Comparison of PinkMirror (pinkmirror.com) and CEVO (cevolab.com). PinkMirror is a web face-analysis site: one front photo gives an attractiveness score you pick as Subjective or Objective, and a face shape; it says its comprehensive report comes within moments. In our test, without an account, it gave the same AI model photo 6.91 out of 10 and the shape Oval three times. Its Explorer's Pass is free (5 analyses a month), Member's Circle is free with an account (10 a month, only Aesthetics Insights) and Elite Access is a monthly subscription (50 analyses, detailed report). CEVO starts with a free scan from one selfie that takes a few minutes: your face shape in everyday words, up to two strengths, your first one to three tips (haircut, glasses, brows, grooming or makeup) and a count of the further tips a report unlocks. Its reports are paid once, no subscription, and each is checked by hand and ready within 24 hours after the photos are accepted: the smallest gives up to 10 front-view proportion tests and a facial balance breakdown, feature by feature; the middle one adds a side photo, the 169-test analysis across 12 regions, the age your face reads as, a natural glow-up and up to 3 hairstyles on your own face, brow, makeup and beard previews and a 90-day routine; the largest adds a surgical simulation with a millimetre change map, a surgeon-ready PDF, up to 10 hairstyle renders and 4 quarterly re-scans."

- **Meta Description:** PinkMirror vs. CEVO: its free score out of 10, its free and paid plans, what we saw when we tried it, and how CEVO's free face-shape scan differs.

PinkMirror scores your face out of 10 from one photo. CEVO tells you your face shape and what suits it, then shows new looks on your own face.

CEVO makes this page. We tried PinkMirror's free score ourselves.

- Free to try: CEVO **Free scan** · PinkMirror **5–10 free a month**
- Paid version: CEVO **Three reports** · PinkMirror **Elite Access**
- Pay: CEVO **Once** · PinkMirror **Every month**
- New looks on your face: CEVO **In reports** · PinkMirror **Not offered**

## How PinkMirror works

Free, in your browser. We tried it without an account.

1. **Pick a score type:** It asks which kind of score you want.
2. **A score out of 10:** The same model photo scored 6.91, three tries out of three.
3. **A face shape:** Oval, as our [face shape detector](https://cevolab.com/tools/face-shape-detector) says too.
4. **Elite for the detailed report:** A monthly plan with 50 analyses. Two free plans give 5 or 10.

## What CEVO gives you. From one selfie.

- **A 478-point face scan:** Every point of your face mapped from one selfie, plus a side photo for your profile.
- **169 tests, region by region:** Twelve regions of your face measured, from brows to jawline, plus the age your face reads as.
- **A natural glow-up on your own face:** Hair, brows and skin changed on your photo. Your bone structure stays as it is.
- **Hairstyles on your own face:** The cuts that suit your face shape, side by side.
- **Brows, beard and makeup:** Brow shape, beard length and makeup picked for your features.
- **A 90-day routine:** Hair, skin and grooming steps to follow for 90 days, made for your face.

- $29 **Basic Readout:**
  - Up to 10 front-view tests
  - Your facial balance breakdown, feature by feature

## Side by side

| What matters | CEVO | PinkMirror |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Price | Free scan, then $29, $59 or $119, paid once, no subscription | Free plans, or Elite Access at $9.97 a month |
| Free version | Your face shape, strengths and first tips, plus a count of the tips a report unlocks | Score and face shape, 5 a month, 10 with an account. Detailed report needs Elite |
| Photos | One front photo. The larger reports add a side photo | One front photo; no side profile |
| Results | Your face shape and what suits it, in plain words. Reports add 10 to 169 tests and a facial balance breakdown | A score out of 10 and a face shape |
| Pictures of you | A glow-up and hairstyles on your own face | Not in its plans |

## What you would pay

Six months of Elite ($59.82) cost about the same as CEVO's $59 report.

All 169 tests, a glow-up and up to 3 hairstyles on your own face.

Paid once. Ready within 24 hours.

Elite Access, per month **$9.97**

50 analyses a month and the detailed report.

Renews monthly until you cancel.

## Before you upload a photo

Phone distance changes the result on any site.

Distance changes the answer on any face test.

- **This face from 1.5 m:** Oval
- **The same face from 30 cm:** Oblong

**CEVO** checks the size of your iris to spot a too-close photo and asks for a retake.

## How the free scan works

1. **Take a selfie:** Prop your phone at eye level, about 1.5 m away. Too close, and CEVO asks for another photo.
2. **See your face shape and what suits you:** Free: your face shape, your strengths and your first tips, in plain words.
3. **Decide if you want more:** See how many more tips are waiting for you. Unlock them only if you want them.

Your face shape and what suits you, free.

## Questions

### Is PinkMirror free?

Partly. Two free plans give 5 or 10 analyses a month, most report features crossed out. The detailed report needs Elite Access, a monthly plan.

### Is PinkMirror accurate?

Its homepage says “Backed by Science”; its own blog says the score “has limitations; hence it is not final”.

### Does PinkMirror keep my photos?

Private by default, but it may train its models on them. It never sells them.

### Is there a PinkMirror app?

We found none in the US App Store. It runs in your browser.

## More detail

### More detail and sources PinkMirror's plans in its own words, what we saw when we tried it, other alternatives, how CEVO measures, and our sources.

### **PinkMirror's plans, from its pricing page:**

- **Explorer's Pass:** free, 5 analyses a month, report features crossed out.
- **Member's Circle:** free with an account, 10 analyses a month; only “Aesthetics Insights” is included. PinkMirror calls it its limited-feature trial.
- **Elite Access:** a monthly subscription with 50 analyses, a weekly summary, detailed and unbiased aesthetics reports, scientific references and personal recommendations. Cancel anytime.
- **Score types:** Subjective, how you see yourself, “balanced and encouraging” and its pick for personal use; or Objective, “how others might evaluate you”.

Side profile analysis is not offered; PinkMirror's help page says it is on the roadmap. Its own scoring article says the score “has limitations; hence it is not final” ([PinkMirror blog](https://pinkmirror.com/blog/photo-retouch-face-attractiveness-score/)). It also publishes [face scores for celebrities](https://pinkmirror.com/person).

PinkMirror says photos are private by default, may be used to train its models, are never sold, and leave backups within 30 days of deletion ([privacy policy](https://pinkmirror.com/privacy-policy)).

### **What we saw when we tried it:**

- We uploaded the AI-generated model shown under “Before you upload a photo” (the 1.5 m photo), with no account and no payment.
- It confirmed one face and the image quality, then asked for a Subjective or an Objective score. We chose Subjective.
- Within seconds: “Your facial attractiveness score is 6.91 out of 10. You’re attractive!” and “Your Face Shape is Oval”. Three tries gave the same answer.
- The 30 cm version of the same face also passed the quality check; the table shows both results.
- PinkMirror says its score comes from “the geometric proportions of facial features such as the eyes, nose, lips, etc., and the distance between those”.

| Result | Phone at 1.5 m | Phone at 30 cm (simulated) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Nose width in the photo | Close to life size | About 4% wider |
| PinkMirror score | 6.91 out of 10 | 6.88 out of 10 |
| PinkMirror face shape | Oval | Oblong |

We didn't buy Elite Access; users on its help page say the paid report shows strengths and what to improve. Its photo tips: look straight into the camera, keep a neutral expression, and be alone in a well-lit photo.

### **PinkMirror and its alternatives:**

| Option | How you pay | What you get |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [CEVO](https://cevolab.com) | Free scan, then one-off reports | Face shape and what suits you; hairstyles on your own face |
| [PinkMirror](https://pinkmirror.com/) | Free, or a monthly plan | A score out of 10 and face shape |
| [Qoves Studio](https://cevolab.com/vs/qoves-studio-alternative) | Paid yearly | Long report, ready in up to 28 days |
| Umax | Weekly plans (App Store) | Phone app. Scores out of 100 for each face part |
| [CEVO free tools](https://cevolab.com/tools/face-shape-detector) | Free | An answer in words for each part of your face |

### **How CEVO measures:**

CEVO maps 478 points on your face and compares the distances and angles between them with ranges published for adult faces across many populations (Farkas and colleagues, 2005). The free scan turns that into your face shape in everyday words, your strengths and your first tips. Reports are paid once.

CEVO's free calculators each give an answer in words for one part of your face, such as face width for its height (Carré and McCormick, 2008) or eye tilt (Rhee and colleagues, 2012).

- At about 30 cm a phone's front camera makes the nose look about 4% wider and the jaw about 3% narrower than from 1.5 m, in our [selfie distance study](https://cevolab.com/research/24mm-selfie-distortion-study); measured against the cheekbones, Ward and colleagues (2018) put the nose at about 30%.
- The lens also changes how people judge a face (Třebický and colleagues, 2016).
- So CEVO checks the size of your iris to spot a too-close photo and asks for a retake.
